Myth Concept 3 – Nikko’s Scitex

There is a weapon known in myths. It is always an ultimate, always terrible, always sought after.

Eons ago, there was the archetype, the original horror. It was held in the hands of a murderous nightmare, fighting against the unending waves of blood-lusting invaders.

Made from the pure energy stolen from the beginning source. Inside this ethereal shell was a link to a dark, hungry void. Nothing escapes it. Once it is wielded, nothing lives.

This sight usually says ‘you’re not going to survive this…”

Details:

The ‘Scitex’ was created by a possessed holy man using the energy that one could call a god’s soul. Once created, the spirit that possessed him, an ancient being known as ‘Zenzekt’, manifested a spatial link to the black-hole in the middle of the Althrian galaxy… When the weapon is activated, the energy shifts and allows the immense strength of the black hole to affect the world around the wielder. The shape of the weapon allows the user to be shielded from the onslaught, focusing everything on the target.

The power level of this weapon is super mass-destruction, equivalent to the beast of a celestial object it’s linked to. There is a danger to the user at full blast, the world or ship being used as a foundation can be destroyed, causing the individual to be caught without standing ground and without life support.

As a note, you’ll notice that Nikko’s hand isn’t exactly flush with the handle… There’s a reason for that. Skin cannot touch the energy of the blade… Nothing in reality can touch it. There is an invisible, but palpable field around it which is actually what is physically tangible. This field differs along the weapon, based on the shape of the energy. The sharpened blade has a sharpened field. The effect of this edge is incredibly dangerous, it’s as if it was a diamond blade, sharpened to one molecule of thickness… Incredible sharp, incredibly sturdy and almost impossible to shield… Even without the link to negative energy activated, this is a wicked weapon.

It’s not a tool for secrecy, I’ll tell you that… It makes a sound like a million people screaming in agony.

About Aaron Shively

I have been working as a freelance writer and artist for the last decade. In that time, I've done everything from ghostwriting to toy design and everything in between. I am currently working on a novel series called 'Myth' which has held my attention for the past sixteen years. I have spent my time developing the world, character and story and am now ready to funnel all the preliminary material into the manuscript of the first installment, 'of Men and Monsters' Bookmark & Share

  1. I’m not into sci-fi/fantasy, but this is interesting stuff.

    • I’m glad you like it.

Thankfully Myth is about much more than the sci-f/fantasy… Beyond the first few chapters, very little detail is given to the fantastical worlds. I’m able to do that because of the pen and brush illustrations I’m planning to pepper in the chapters; more detail, less words about the world, more character/emotion focus.

  2. That sword.
    WOW.
    Epitome of amazing!!!
(haha Jo’s comment made my day!)

    • Thank you.
The sword is actually a redesign of a redesign, lol
I found the old model I created about six months ago and finally got around to finishing the handle and the swirly-energy texture.
      Glad you like it!

  3. Pity I didn’t have something like it during my divorce…:)
